Preheat oven to 375 degrees. lightly grease a loaf pan and line with parchment paper.
In a large bowl, mix together 1/2 cups flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt and cinnamon. in another bowl, beat together mashed bananas, sugar, egg and melted butter.
Stir the banana mixture into the flour mixture just until moistened. Fold in chocolate chips and nuts (if using). Spoon batter into prepared loaf pan.
Bake for 25-30 min or until toothpick in the center comes out clean.
Move to a cooling rack to let cool before slicing. Store in an airtight container. Consume or freeze within 5 days of baking.
